I thought I'd "save a few dollars" by ordering tires (Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT) from a well-known online tire retailer. The tires were drop-shipped and installed at a local shop. The technician couldn't get one of the new tires to "zero out" on the spin balancer. Five business days later, I took my truck (2022 Tacoma) to Vermont Tire & Service to have the tires road force balanced. During the inspection, they discovered that one of the new tires was out of round, and another required a significant amount of weight to balance properly. I faced two options: put the defective tires back on my truck and contact the internet retailer, potentially waiting days or even weeks for replacement tires, or purchase a new set from Vermont Tire & Service. I ultimately chose the latter. David Claypool was incredibly helpful in explaining my options and helping me select replacement tires for my truck. The new tires (Toyo AT3) were installed the next day and balanced perfectly. As for the tires I purchased online, despite having less than ten documented miles, the retailer will only accept two of them for a partial credit. This means that from a $1,000 purchase, I am only receiving about a $4

We damaged a tire, they were able to get the warranty to cover the cost of the tire, within 24 hours. They went above and beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend doing business with them.

I stopped in unannounced to inquire about a tire repair. The staff was welcoming and helped me without delay. I left the tire with them and they had it finished and reached out to me well before the time I requested it be done. A lot of places would have tried to push a new tire on me, but VT Tire focused on customer service and has gained a regular customer because of it!

I was delighted to drop off my car for a few hours without an appointment when it fit into my schedule. The team updated my car information when I called to inquire initially, and this saved time when I came to drop off. They called me when my car was done and I was able to come pick it up when it was convenient for me. They charged very reasonably to diagnose and fix my tire which had a nail in it. They have plenty of seating with wifi and coffee and restroom for those who need to sit and wait for their vehicle.
